Kris, a coda of sorts
by Erik Swedlund
Today, while browsing the web, I figured I'd see if I could
find out what my old friend Josh Geurink and his family were
up to. I knew Josh used to be pretty active on the web, so
finding some trace of him with a search engine wouldn't be hard.
I fired up the old search with the term "Geurink" (how many could
there be?) and was hit with a flood of results. Apparently, there
are a lot of Geurinks.
Luckily, it happens that Josh's father runs a website actually
devoted to keeping track of all the Geurinks. So in the middle
of all the mess of the search results, I had found a website
that was handy in keeping all the results straight, and, even
better, focused on the particular branch of Geurinks I was
looking for.
Josh is living in Madison, WI, it seems. I'll have to look him
up next time I go up there to visit some other friends. I knew
Josh in high school. I met him freshman year, just before his
family moved to Milwaukee. We got to be pretty good friends, and
I went to visit him a lot.
Which is how I got to know his little sister. Elsewhere on
Too Many Colors, you can read "Your
Run-of-the-Mill First Kiss Disaster," which is the story of
my first kiss. The person I kissed was Kris, Josh's little
sister.
