45rpm Review
at Too Many Colors

This probably hasn't happened to you, but it has to me, and it really bugs me: a friend tells you about this great 45, so you go down to the record shop to buy it. You flip all the way through the damn cardboard box, and come up empty. Why? Because, although you knew the title, you didn't know what it looked like. Let's face it, when you're looking at 45s, you look at the pretty pictures.

45rpm Review rectifies the problem. Now you know what the cool 45s look like, so picking them out should be no problem.

Servotron

There is No Santa Claus!

by Erik Swedlund

As I understand it, Servotron has something to do with Man . . . or Astroman? But I could be wrong.

This 45 can be enjoyed solely on an ironic level. "Chismas [sic] Day of the Robot" is an entertaining ditty, but doesn't really have much too it. I guess if you're really into evil robots taking over Christmas. Not terrible, though.

The flip side has the tracks "Servotron Sonic Evaluation of the Christmas Season," which sounds like an annoying electronic tie that plays a medly of carols, and "Death of the Sugarplum Fairy," a take on the ballet classic involving Moog sounds in a minor key. Tiresome.
